Using Our Collections for Research
Researchers—academic, family, or creative—are welcome to consult our holdings by appointment. We hold archival documents, photographs, and supporting material that can support dissertations, books, family history, and other projects. Staff can advise on what is available, how to cite items, and any restrictions.
Publications and guides
We publish and contribute to articles, guides, and occasional papers that make our expertise and collections accessible. Themes include home front history, local heritage, and community remembrance across the United Kingdom. Selected titles are available from our shop or can be ordered; digital copies may be offered where appropriate.
Booking and enquiries
Research visits must be booked in advance. For appointment requests, opening times for the research room, and publication enquiries, see our visit and contact page. You can also explore our digital archive for material available online.
